After three weeks off over the holidays the Crave team is ready to get the ball rolling here in term 2. We were pleased with term 1 and so are seeking to grow our momentum in the coming weeks; we hope to avoid the end of Autumn blues 🙂 As a leadership team we are hoping to increase the opportunities our youth have to grow in relationship with each other on a Friday night. We will still have heaps of fun activities but thrown into the mix will be more opportunities for the youth to talk about what’s going on in their lives and how that relates to what they believe.
Our first teaching series will be about Spiritual Discipline. The bible teaches that to have a successful relationship with God and with other people, we need to be disciplined in engaging those relationships. They won’t just happen. So it will be quite a practical series that we hope equips and inspires our young people to embrace discipline in their lives and not treat it as a dirty word.
- April 19th
- 6:15 -9pm at St. Johns
- Cost: $5
- Food: Dinner provided
A great chance to talk about what things your family finds easy to be disciplined in and what you find difficult. Every family will be different. For example, in my family we are very disciplined with our calendar; we rarely double book ourselves and make sure we always have time for family, friends and church. When it comes to eating healthy… we’re not so good. Who knows, you might learn some important things about where your family members are at if this became an honest dinner table conversation 🙂
Is the Women’s Ministry Event a clash with Crave?
The St. John’s women’s ministry team are running an event at the same venue as Crave this Friday. We have organised to share the site with them so we anticipate no dramas. Of course, if you’re a mum, you might like to come along. Here’s a link to our church newsletter which has some extra details (it’s on page 2 near the top):
